November 3, at 0.14 o'clock THORSHAVET struck by one torpedo in the engine room on starboard side which caused a tremendous explosion and the engines stopped momentarily. Immediately afterwards vessel was struck by a second torpedo also on the starboard side.
Four lifeboats were launched as the possibility of further torpedoings was imminent and we rowed away from the ship. We circled round the ship until dawn when it was then ascertained that three of the crew members were missing, namely 2nd cook Raymond Estrada, 3rd Eng. Halvor Holtskog and motorman Rolf Georg Nilsen.
We rowed back to te wreck in order to search for the men but could see nothing except the body of the 3rd Eng. floatiing in the engine room. Nothing was seen of the other two men.
We intended to wait until the ship went down, but in the meantime a destroyer came alongside and picked us up. We were picked up at 3 pm on the 3rd of November and remained on board until the following evening when we were landed at Curacao at 8.30 on the 4th.
