JOHANNESSEN, JOSEF, matros, Skåtøy. Født 14. februar 1916 i Skåtøy, s. av Johannes Olsen, f. 1880 i Skåtøy, og Anna f. Pedersen, f. 1889 s. st. Reiste ut som hvalfanger 1939. Kom våren 1940 til Canada hvor han gikk inn i den norske marine. Ble utdannet på forskjellige skip. Omkom 10. februar 1943 med u-båten Uredd.
