ANDERSEN, WILLIAM NICOLAY, Loppa. Født 18. april 1918 i Nuvsvåg, Loppa, s. av Nicolay Andersen, f. 1886, og Johanna f. Olsen, f. 1887, begge i Nuvsvåg. Tjente verneplikten i marinen høsten 1938 og 1939, ble avløst 1. juni 1939, men ble samme høst innkalt til vakttjeneste på p/s Eidsvold, hvor han var kanonmann, og omkom 9. april 1940 da «Eidsvold» ble senket utenfor Narvik. Gravlagt i Øksfjord.
