Var "under krigen forhyret med s/s "Betty" tilhörende Eilert Lunds rederi A/S., Bergen. Han ble arrestert 17. oktober 1942 da han sammen med den övrige besetning nektet å gå med ammunisjon fra Narvik til Kirkenes. Dette er bekreftet av rederiet, jfr. brev av 13. september 1948. Fangetiden utholdt sökeren på fölgende steder: Narvik, Akershus og Hamburg. Han ble sendt hjem 28. januar 1944 og löslatt mot meldeplikt".
