Sjømannen vitnet ved sjøforklaring holdt den mars ved det norske konsulat i Newcastle o/Tyne, etter at DS POLLUX ble torpedert den 18/31917 av tysk ubåt i Nordsjøen. Pos. N 57.58', W 01.10' på reise Newcastle til Bergen med Sulfat og stykkgods. 8 passasjerer og 8 av besetningen omkom.
