Historikk:
Haakedal ble påmønstret DS Listo den 16. desember 1939 og ble ang. avmønstret 13. april 1940 i Haugesund. (5 av mannskapet ble avmønstret 16. april 1940, og det er ikke angitt hvem dette var).
Historien forteller at Haakedal og et annet mannskap valgte å forlate skipet uten å ha mottatt hyre. Uten penger valgte derfor å ta beina fatt og gå tilbake til Sørlandet. Det er fortalt at de fikk låne ski i Røldal, mot at disse ble etterlatt i Haukeligrend, slik at eier kunne hente disse nå vegen over fjellet ble åpnet.
