Sjømannen vitnet ved sjøforklaring holdt den 28. mars 1917, ved Det kgl. Norske konsulat i Liverpool, etter at DS KORSNÆS ble skutt i senk av tysk ubåt i pos. 3 kvm. WSW av Bardsay Island Light på reise fra St. Malo til Liverpool i ballast. Alle reddet.
