Født på Bjørneskinn i Vesterålen 28. mars 1885. Flyttet til Hop i Fana.
Til sjøs 1904 med ds "Norrøna" av Bergen tilh. Adolph Halvorsen & Co.
Styrm. eks. 1908 i Fredrikstad og skipsf. eks 1913 i Bergen.
Styrm. med "Hugin", "Herman Wedel Jarlsberg", "Anna" og "Hardanger" av Bergen.
Ble i 1916 fører av ds "Hardanger" av Bergen tilh. Westfal-Larsen & Co.
Har senere ført ds "Evanger", ds "Porsanger", ds "Kaupanger" og ms "Høyanger", alle av Bergen tilh. samme rederi. Sluttet sjøen 1952.
"Var hjemme på ferie den 9. april 1940 og ble derfor hjemme under hele siste verdenskrig med unntagelse av
13 mnd som jeg førte ds "Kaupanger" på norskekysten."
