Gikk i alliert fart og omkom utenfor Sunderland på Englands østkyst den 27. juli 1940 da M/S BALZAC sank etter en eksplosjon, antagelig forårsaket av mine. Skipet lå til ankers 2 1/2 n. mil av land.
