Reiste ut som styrmann i 1937, ble skipsfører 1940 og omkom da D/S POLARLAND ble torpedert på reise fra Sydney, Nova Scotia til Halifax den 4. januar 1945. Kaptein Abrahamsen befant seg på brua og omkom sammen med 18 av skipets besetning på 23 mann».
