«Hadde vore til sjøs sidan han var 18 år gamal. Var med på krigsforliset til d/s Cubanos 1940. Reiste til sist med m/s Trafalgar. Vart drepen 28. mars 1942 under inspeksjon av livbåtane da skipet lå i Buenos Aires, då han fall over bord og beint i ein jarnlekter som kom forbi i det same. Gravlagd i Buenos Aires».
