2.styrmann Reidar Andreassen var ombord i D/S DUKAT da skipet den 8.12.1941 ble oppbrakt,kapret og tatt som prise av japansk krigsskip. Den 17.januar 1942 ble han internert i japansk krigsfangeleir til han ble frigitt den 30.august 1945 og straks sendt til Seattle, USA. Han ble videre sendt til New York med ankomst 3.10.1945. Fangenskaplønn fra 9.12.1941 til 30.6.1945.
