Gift i Andebu 1928 med Agnes Marie Ellefsrød, f. 1903. 3 barn. Ungdomsskole. Reiste ut høsten 1939. Ved krigens utbrudd fortsatte han i handelsflåten. Var Donkeymann på d/s Hallfried og omkom utenfor Skottland da båten ble torpedert 31. oktober 1943 fra på vei fra Liverpool til Spania.
