Ifølge liste fra Nortraship januar 1943 ble Iver Haakon Clasen fange i Japan etter først å være rapportert savnet ved skipet HERBORG sitt forlis juni 1942.23. november 1943, løslatt fra tysk fangeleir november 1943 og sendt til Oslo.
Ble tatt til fange av tysk raider i det Indiske hav 19.6.1942, ført først til Japan, deretter til Tyskland. Ble løslatt og kom til Oslo 23.11.1943.
