"Gift 1938 i København med Aagot Rasmussen, f. 1903 i Ålesund. Maskinistskole, motormaskinkurs. Var maskinmester på m/s Herstein da skipet ble angrepet av japanske fly i nærheten av Rabaul, og mannskapet ble tatt til fange av japanerne. Under fangetransporten til Japan omkom han sammen med skipets øvrige besetning på 31 mann 10. juli 1942 da «Montevideo Maru» ble senket".
Den faktiske datoen for senkingen av "Montevideo Maru" er 1. juli 1942 og ikke 10. juli 1942 som Våre falne opplyser.
