Skulle gå styrmannsskolen, men krigen satte en stopper for denne plan. Var matros i den norske handelsmarine i tjeneste for de allierte og omkom ved krigsforlis med d/s Hørda av Bergen i Atlanterhavet i slutten av mars 1941. Både skip og mannskap forsvant sporløst etter å ha forlatt Liverpool 23. mars med kurs for Halifax.
