Var ombord på M/T VELMA som gikk i alliert fart.
Siden var han ombord på M/T INDIA, og omkom da skipet forsvant . M/T INDIA ble den 10.9.1943 senket av den tyske hjelpekrysseren "MICHEL" ( KzS Günther Gumprich ) og hennes torpedobåt LS-4 " ESAU " nær Påskeøya på reise Talara, Peru til Sydney med olje. Hele besetningen på 41 mann, omkom.
