Gift 1933 i Tønsberg med Randi Horntvedt, f. 1907 i Sandefjord. Middelskole, styrmanns-, skipper- og radioskole. Førte m/s Jamaica av Sandefjord fra 1937. Omkom da skipet ble senket i Atlanterhavet av en tysk u-båt 7. mars 1943, på vei fra Liverpool til New York.
