26.9.1940 - Befant Kosmos seg ca. 2000 nautiske mil øst for Trinidad, hvor hun ble kapret og senket av tysk raider - THOR i pos. 00.26 S og 32.01 W. Mannskapet ble tatt til fange og satt i tysk fangenskap fra 26. september 1940 til 5. juli 1941 og repatriert til Norge.
