LARSEN, KÅRE KRISTIAN, messegutt, Sandtorg. Født 19. august 1922 i Harstad, s. av Albert Heggelund Larsen, f. 1890 i Ibestad, og Olga Julie Elise f. Rask, f. 1894 i Loppa. Kom til England fra Svalbard 1941. Var senere på hvalkokeriet Kosmos II som gikk i alliert fart. Da skipet var på vei fra New York til Clyde, ble det utsatt for torpedoangrep 29. oktober 1942. Skipet gikk til bunns, og han omkom.
