1.styrmann ombord på M/S MORVIKEN som ble kapret og senket av tysk hjelpekrysser PINGUIN den 28.8.1940. Mannskapet tatt til fange og landsatt rundt juletider 1940 i Bordeaux, Frankrike og ført til fangeleir i Tyskland. Frigitt og hjemsendt med det tyske transportskipet M/S DONAU med ankomst Oslo i Mai 1941.
