I perioden 1.3 1944 til 1.7.1944 fungerte Reidar Enok Andersen som assistent for kaptein Thorvald Birger Lihaug som var sjef for invasjonsflåtens norske handelsskip i Dover/Grimsby i forbindelse med planleggingen av invasjonen i Normandie.
