I følge London-kort (61049) er det oppgitt hjemmeadresse: 146 Holland Street, Glasgow, Skottland.

Til Det Norske Flyvåpen 12.9.1942. Dimittert 1.9.1946.

I et brev til Direktoratet for Sjømenn datert den 20.10.1972 skriver Berger følgende: Passet er det eneste papir jeg har igjen fra krigstiden. De øvrige papirer ble borte under forlisene. For ordens skyld vil jeg nevne at M/T "Rigmor" tilhørte "Kvarstadbåtene" fra Gøteborg. Forliste i Nordsjøen. Etter forliset med M/T "Nordland" i Atlanterhavet ble vi omsider tatt opp av en Hollandsk båt og kom inn til Halifax i Canada. I slutten av juli måned 1942 ble jeg sendt til Det Kgl. Norske Flyvevåpen i Little Norway i Canada.
