Var under krigen fyrbøter på d/s Octavian. En har ikke sett noe til skip eller mannskap etter at skipet forlot Galveston 9. januar 1942 på vei til St. John's N. S.
Minnehallen i Stavern skriver om forliset:
"D/S OCTAVIAN var på reise fra Galveston til St. John N.B. Skipet forsvant med sin besetning på 16 nordmenn og en brite. Etter krigen ble det brakt på det rene at Octavian står oppført blant sekningsresultatene til tysk U-203 ( Kapitänleutnant Rolf Mutzelburg) den 17. januar 1942 utenfor Cape Race på Newfoundland i posisjon 45.00N og 60.00W.
