Var båtsmann ombord i flytende hvalkokeri OLE WEGGER da dette ble kapret av tysk hjelpekrysser PENGUIN den 14.1.1941. Mannskapet ble landsatt i Frankrike og sendt hjem til Norge. Bendikt Bendiksen ankom Sandefjord den 5.5.1941 og ble avmønstret der.
