Sjømannen vitnet ved sjøforklaring holdt den 1. mai 1917 i Kristiania byretts lokaler, etter at DS TROLDFOS ble senket den 18/4 i posisjon N 60.59' W04.47' på reise fra New York til Kristiania med landbruksutstyr. Senket av tysk ubåt U-93). Alle reddet.
