Hvalkokeriet "Sir James Clark Ross" ble kapret av den tyske raideren "Pinguin" 15.januar 1941 sammen med hvalfangerne "Ole Wegger " og "Solglimt". Mannskapet ble overført til "Pinguin" og sendt til Bordeaux i Frankrike hvor de ankom 20.3.1941. Derfra ble mannskapet overført til tysk fangeleir Milag und Marlag. De ble senere sendt til Oslo hvor de ble løslatt 4.mai 1941.
