Gift 1934 i Bergen med Martha Johanna Utvær, f. 1914 i Førde. 1 barn. Dro ut med m/t Alfred Olsen. Var senere båtsmann på d/s Polyana. Skipet gikk i konvoi fra Oban med kurs for Freetown, men en hørte ikke noe fra det siden det forlot konvoien planmessig 14. april 1941.
