Registernummer under krigen: London 13208, NY 26812.
Ifølge kravskjema og Registration Card var han ikke med M/T B. P. Newton, men dro 30. mars 1942 fra Sverige med kvarstadbåten M/T Rigmor som 2. april 1942 ble angrepet av tyske fly og deretter senket av britisk marinefartøy. Hele mannskapet som var gått i livbåter, ble brakt til England med HMS Eskimo. Se sjøforklaring. Avmønstret 6. april 1942 og gikk til Den norske marine 4. mai 1942.

Fartstid ca.30 måneder. Var hjemme den 9.april 1940, men rømte over til Sverige. Derfra kom han over til England med M/T B.P. NEWTON som stakk til sjøs den 31.mars 1942, og kom seg vel over til England.
Var senere en tid på M/T RIGMOR som han mønstret av i april 1942 og meldte seg til marinen.
Gjennomgikk forskjellige kurs, og gjorde så en tid tjeneste i Marinen. Ble overført til SSH DUMBARTON den 29.10.1943 og utdannet til skytter. Senere gjorde han tjeneste på:

M/T GEFION
Dimittert på Garnes ved Bergen 26. november 1945.
Han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen og Deltakermedaljen.
