M/S RINGWOOD ble Kapret 14. oktober 1940 av tysk raider "ORION" i pos. N 05.29',E 159.42' på reise fra Shanghai til Pleasant Islands i ballast. Skipet ble senket av tysk mannskap med en sprengladning etter at skipet var grundig ransaket og plyndret. Den norske besetninge ble overført til ORION. Internert i Tyskland. Frigitt og hjemsendt med D/S DONAU. Ankom Oslo den 4.5.1941.
Fangenskapslønn til og med 15.6.1941.
