Internert i Oran juni 1940 med D/S PATRIA og ble krigsfange. Rømte 26.juni 1941 , fangenskaplønn utbetalt ved ankomst Gibraltar til 2.7.1941.
12.7.1942 til 23.2.1943. Elev ved den norske radioskolen, 130 Atkins Road, Clapham SW.12, London.
Ble torpedert med M/S SCEBEI den 21.4.1943, landsatt på St.Johns, New Foundland, omkring 1.mai, var der i tre uker før skipslelighet kunne skaffes. Alle overlevende ble sendt til New York, avmønstret og avbetalt der 31.mai 1943.
