Ble torpedert med M/T SCOTIA. Skipet var på reise fra Bahrain i den Persiske Gulf til Melbourne, Australia. Japansk U. båt I.37 senket skipet, og han kom seg opp på en redningsflåte, men ble skutt av japanerne den 27.november 1943.

Tildelt Krigsmedaljen post mortem.
