Seilte i utenriksfart da krigen brøt ut i Norge, og kom i alliert tjeneste. Omkom 27. september 1941 da D/S SIREMALM ble torpedert, på vei fra Almeria til Barrow. Broren Søren Pareli Normann Schjelderup omkom 1942.
