"Meldte seg som frivillig 9. april 1940, ble tatt til fange og sendt til Mysen. Våren 1941 dro han til Sverige. Seilte ut fra Göteborg med hvalkokeriet D/S SKYTTEREN, som ble senket av besetningen 1. april 1942. Han ble tatt til fange og sendt til Tyskland. Var i fangeleirene Marlag und Milag Nord, i Rendsburg, ble dømt til 5 års tukthus og ført til Sonnenburg. Ble så sendt til Sachsenhausen, og døde der av tuberkulose i desember 1944".
