Gift 1934 i Flekkefjord med Dagny Elida Tangen, f. 1906 i Skee i Sverige. 1 barn. Var 1. styrmann og radiotelegrafist på m/t Sydhav, og omkom da båten ble torpedert 6. mars 1942 av italiensk u-båt, på vei fra Curacao via Trinidad til Freetown.
