Den 19. januar 1945 til 28. februar 1945 anvist av norske myndigheter og gitt tillatelse til å seile på utenlandske skip som styrmann (U.S. Cities Service Fuel) Tillatelse også gitt til å arbeide i land i USA.
Den 9. april 1946 reiste han hjem til Norge som passasjer med D/S JUPITER.
