YTRØY, JAKOB, matros, Solund. Født 10. desember 1912 i Solund, s. av Henrik Trulsen Ytrøy, f. 1881, og hustru Mathilde Torgeirsdatter, f. 1883, begge i Solund. Sløydkurs, skoleskipskurs. Var på m/s Vibran, og omkom da skipet forsvant på reise til Halifax. Det gikk fra Cardiff 18. september 1942. Ifølge en tysk melding ble skipet torpedert av en u-båt 23. september.
