«Var 2. styrmann på «Granli» som ble senket ved Newfoundland av en tysk krysser 16. mars 1941. Mannskapet ble tatt til fange og sendt til leir i Tyskland, men ble senere løslatt og kom til Norge 29. juli 1941. Han ble senere utkommandert til tjeneste som 1. styrmann på d/s Almora, og omkom da skipet ble senket av fly på Hustadvika 6. mai 1944».
