Sjømannen vitnet ved sjøforklaring holdt den 2. april ved det norske generalkonsulat i London, etter at DS BRODE ble torpedert 19/3 og sank 28 n. mil SSE av Armen Island på reise fra Cardiff til Giberaltar med kull. 1 mann omkom
