Hadde vært med på to krigsforlis før han omkom på M/T NORTIND som ble senket den 26.1.1943. Skipet var på reise fra New York til Mersey og var i ferd med å redde mannskapet på M/T KOLLBJØRG da det ble angrepet av tysk ubåt og senket.
