Internert med M/S NYHORN den 30. juni 1940 i Casablanca av Vichy-myndighetene. Mannskapet flyktet fra skipet den 8.12.1941, og ankom Gibraltar. Reiste fra Gibraltar med D/S BATORY den 30.12.1941, og ankom til England den 23.1.1942. Kort etter ble han ansatt som kokk ved det norske hospital i London til han reiste ut i handelflåten igjen den 24.4.1943. Fangenskaplønn fra 9.12.1941 til 22.1.1942.
Bosatte seg i St. Ives Hunt`s, Uk. etter krigen. Beholdt sitt norske statsborgerskap.
