Var ombord på Pelagos som ble kapret av det tyske kaperfartøyet PINGUIN på feltet i Antarktis 14. januar 1941, Skipet ble bragt til Bordeaux hvor de ankom 20/3-1941, mannskapet ble etter en tid i tysk fangeskap repatriert til Norge, Olsen ankom Sandefjord 5.5.1941.
