Registernummer under krigen: London 21832, NY 31424.
"Regina" ankom Oran 26.6.1940 og ble tilbakeholdt av franske myndigheter. 21.6.1940 ble skipet rekvirert av Vichy-myndighetene og mannskapet ble satt i land i Bone, Algerie.
Hermansen ble frigitt 16.11.1942. Arbeidet antagelig for amerikanerne til 23.1.1943 da han reiste med "Bergensfjord" fra Casablanca til dakar for å gå ombord i "Duala".
Stuert M/S " Duala " av Oslo. Rederiet Chr. Gundersen & Co. påm. 23.1.1943. avm. 1.6.1946.
