Reiste ut som kokk med s/s Spika i 1939. Kom i juli 1940 ombord i s/s Tres som 13. august 1940 var utsatt for et bombeangrep. Han ble såret og fikk lungebetennelse. Døde 13. november 1940 på hospital i Haston Gasport.
