Inspeksjons- og Vepningsoffiserer i havnebyene og på norske handelsskip under den annen verdenskrig 1940-1945.

Seilte som 1. Styrmann og telegrafist på D/S KOLSDAL.

Ble tatt inn i marinen og utdannet til inspeksjons- og vepningsoffiser ved Sjøforsvarets Skytteravdeling for Handelsflåten.

Tjenestegjorde 7 måneder som inspeksjonsoffiser i Newcastle, senere i New York, og sist i Baltimore, hvor han opprettet nytt SSH kontor. Han ble dimittert i desember 1945 og dro tilbake til Baltimore hvor han drev skipshandel i over 30 år.
