Var 4 år ved Narvesens gatesalg i Oslo til han 1938 reiste ut med D/S KRISTIANIAFJORD og siden påmønstret Svenska Lloyds D/S ANDALUSIA, hvor han var maskinelev.
Omkom da D/S ANDALUSIA forsvant, antagelig minesprengt i Den engelske kanal den 21. juni 1940 på reise fra Bordeaux til Gøteborg.
