Skytter nr. 705: Amundsen, Thorbjørn. Født 18.1.1915 i Larvik.
Antatt i marinen 28.01.1942 og ble utdannet til skytter i Camp Norway, Lunenburg, Canada.
Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
M/S BAYARD fra 14.4.1942. Underveis fra New Orleans til Cristóbal ble skipet torpedert ca. 40 n.mil nordost for munningen av Mississippi munningen den 6.juli 1942. Under forliset omkom Amundsen med 10 andre av besetningen.

Ifølge londonarkivet ble Amundsen antatt i Marinen 01. mars 1942, som U.d.m.
Sivil stilling: Matros.
