Var Kokk ombord på M/S JAMAICA, og ble beordret hjem av rederiet for å gå ombord i en annen båt. Var passasjer på D/S BIARRITZ, og omkom den 25.januar 1940 da skipet sank 35. n. mil vest for Ymuiden, etter en eksplosjon som sannsynligvis skyldtes en mine. Broren Thorleif Henry døde 1941
