Skytter nr. 1174: Antonsen, Olav Anton. Født 7.4.1921 på Onsøy.
Var ombord på M/S OLAF FOSTENES som ble torpedert den 18.september 1942 kl. 0450. Hele besetningen på 36 mann kom seg i livbåtene. Etter en rotur på 9 døgn kom de inn til New Foundland. (I 1940 reddet skipet 278 personer fra et hollandsk skip, og i 1941 37 mann fra et britisk skip.)
Yrke:
Antatt i marinen og ble utdannet til skytter i Camp Norway, Lunenburg, Canada i tiden 9.10.1942 til 24.11.1942.
Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
M/S TARN fra 25.11.1942 til 27.8.1943.
M/T DALFONN fra 28.8.1943 til 22.3.1944.
SSH Travers Island, New York fra 23.3.1944 til 13.4.1944.
D/S HARPEFJELL fra 14.4.1944 til 11.7.1945.
D/S LISTA fra 24.7.1945 til 20.8.1945.
M/S IVARAN fra 19.9.1945 til 15.10.1945.
For sin innsats for Norge under den annen verdenskrig ble han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen, Deltakermedaljen.
