02.01.1940: Mønstret som 2.styrmann i Arendal til D/S START. Lastet kull i Sunderland for Oslo.
Avgikk Sunderland 29.01.1940. Omkom ved krigsforlis 31. januar 1940 i Nordsjøen.
Hele besetningen på 16 mann omkom ved torpedering eller minesprenging.
Vi har senere fått rede på at START ble torpedert av tysk U-båt, U-13.
